New Voices Award writing contest now open for submissions

The Award is given annually by LEE & LOW BOOKS for a children's picture book manuscript by a writer of color. The contest encourages writers of color to submit their work to a publisher that takes pride in nurturing new talent. Past winners include Bird by Zetta Elliott and It Jes' Happened by Don Tate.

Kindle authors get $1.5 million bonus this holiday

The folks at Amazon really want authors to enroll their books in KDP Select. To grab more authors, Amaon has just added a bonus of $1.5 million to the global fund for the holidays. This is a bonus on top of the regular monthly fund during the three-month period that starts in December 2012 and ends in February 2013.
