In earlier articles, we've described why it's important for e-book authors to submit their work to awards contests. Yes, they cost money. But the opportunity for exposure makes these dollars an investment in marketing. Below are three additional award contests that are ideal for e-book authors.
Green Book Festival Award
The Green Book Festival Award contest is an annual competition honoring both traditional books and ebooks. These books are judged on how they contribute to greater understanding, respect for and positive action on the changing worldwide environment.
New York Book Festival Award
The New York Book Festival contest is an annual event that celebrates books that "deserve greater recognition from the world’s publishing capital." (I guess they think that New York, and not Seattle, is still the "capital" of the publishing industry.) They accept submissions in both print and e-books.
Next Generation Indie Book Awards
If you're an indpendent book authors or publishers (small, medium or otherwise), a university press, a self-published author, check out the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. This is for authors in the U.S., Canada or internationally you can enter this award. Boths easoned authors and first time authors have been awarded.
Reader Views Literary Book Awards
Another annual contest, the Reader Views Literary Book Awards, was established to honor writers self-publish, published via e-books, or by a subsidy publisher, small press, university press, or independent book publisher. The book should be intended for reading by the North American reading audience.
